Roseville son charged with murder and attempted murder of parents

On Sept. 7, Roseville Police responded to reports of assault on an
elderly couple by their estranged son off of Saint Anne’s place. 
When police arrived, the 72-year-old father was dead, according to law enforcement officials. 
“At 2:37 a.m., we received a call from an elderly female with
reports that her adult son had assaulted her and her husband,” said Roseville
Police Department spokesman Rob Baquera. 
“When officers arrived on scene, they found
the distraught female with significant injuries. They found a 72-year-old Roseville man who was
Roseville Police then arrested 43-year-old Eric Joseph Bryant of Roseville and took him
into custody, according to Baquera.
“At this time, it’s unknown what circumstances led up to this
incident,” Baquera said. 
Police are now investigating a possible homicide with Bryant
currently in custody, according to Baquera. 
“At this time, one suspect (Bryant) is in custody. No other
suspects are outstanding,” Baquera said.
As of 5:15 a.m. Sept. 8, the wife of the
deceased (Bryant’s mother)  is in surgery for wounds sustained from her
son, according to Baquera.
“No toxicology yet and (Bryant) will make
his first appearance in court on Monday or Tuesday,” he said.
Bryant has been booked into the Placer County Jail with charges
related to the death of his father and the attempted murder of his mother,
according to Baquera.
