I would like to compliment Placer County Supervisor Robert Weygandt for his encouraging article in The Lincoln News Messenger (Aug. 31, page A4) titled “Affordable/workforce housing being addressed.”
This topic is one that frequently gets ignored because it is both sensitive and complex.
There is a definite need for affordable housing in Placer County.
Although Weygandt’s article lacks specifics at present demonstrating how the issue will be addressed, he is clear about his intention to “do something” rather than sitting on the sidelines while the problem continues to grow.
I thank our supervisor for his intent to provide momentum and support on behalf of those who need affordable housing.
Perhaps his leadership will encourage other elected officials to join him in addressing this matter.
