The spicy offerings of Buffalo Wild Wings include more than just a tasty dinner. A strong offering of craft beers, regular televised sporting events and good conversation are the hallmarks of the franchise, and owners expect that to apply to their new restaurant in Roseville.
Taking over the old TGI Friday’s outlet near the Galleria at 1168 Galleria Boulevard, Suite 200, the restaurant has enjoyed tremendous success since it opened Aug. 8, according to Managing Partner Al Santa Catalina. Santa Catalina said the restaurant’s warm local reception is in part due to the chain’s current popularity as a community dining hub throughout the region.
“We are the darlings of the industry right now; anyone in the industry would say that,” Santa Catalina explained. “In the ’80s it used to be Chili’s; we are that concept that’s just opening up. We are almost 2,000 (locations) strong.”
Along with the restaurant’s central location, a place Santa Catalina said the company has been courting for the last three years, the community itself has been very good to Santa Catalina’s Buffalo Wild Wings branch. A Roseville resident himself, Santa Catalina became involved with Buffalo Wild Wings stores in Tracey and Stockton after being introduced to the franchise through a friend and coworker. He said thus far, the restaurant has been thoroughly supported by the robust business climate of the community.
“They’ve embraced us. It’s been really, really good,” Santa Catalina said. “We do pretty well in the area already, but everyone down in this neck of the woods is very surprisingly happier than I first thought. We did some really good sales our first week.”
The corporate restaurant chain has done well in the Sacramento area in general; the new Roseville location adds to the franchise’s growing list of locations in surrounding areas such as Citrus Heights and Folsom. Santa Catalina explained that the surge of the restaurant’s popularity has provided a doorway for them to employ 150 people at the Roseville location, and spurred growth.
According to Santa Catalina, the franchise has plans to open a new location in Arden toward the second quarter of 2017 and in Elk Grove at an unspecified date. For Buffalo Wild Wings, Roseville’s successful opening is part of a larger pattern. It’s an exciting prospect for the restaurateur.
“We’re excited to be here,” Santa Catalina said. “I’ve been a resident here forever; we’re really excited.”
