Lincoln to break ground on new tennis facility
The lighted tennis center lobbied for by the Lincoln and Rocklin Tennis Association (LARTA) will take a big step forward with a groundbreaking scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The new facility will be located in Chief Robert Jimenez Park located at the intersection of Ferrari Ranch Road and Groveland Lane in Lincoln. The 17-acre park is on the northwest corner of the intersection.
The community and all tennis enthusiasts are invited to join Lincoln’s council members for the ceremony.
The finished project will include four lighted tennis courts. It will also include two basketball courts (no lights), landscaping, sidewalks, restroom and a gravel parking lot.
The park is named after Jimenez, who served as Lincoln’s police chief from 1947 to 1979.
