William Jessup University men's golf continues to bring in the accolades after their program's record finish at Nationals.

The Warriors were eighth overall in the country, with senior Johnnie Greco coming home an All-American. Greco’s honor was recently announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America being named a first-team recipient for the NAIA PING All-American.

"At the beginning of the year, I knew it was a special group of seniors that wanted to step up and do what no other WJU golf team has done," Warriors head coach Tim Hovancsek said, "qualify for Nationals. All eight men bought into working as hard as we could to reaching our goal."

Hovancsek said he knew at the beginning of the 2016-17 season that he had a special group of gentlemen playing for him; the team was comprised of three freshman and five seniors. Leading the force was nationally-ranked Greco, taking home four of his own tournament titles and placing in the top-15 at Nationals.

Coupled with his course recognition, Greco was named Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year, NAIA Men's Golf Championship All-Tournament Team honoree and now two-time All-American (NAIA and PING) for 2017.

"What an amazing year it's been," Hovancsek concluded. "After reflecting on what this year has been for Jessup golf, the university and all of our supporters, I can honestly say 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible' (Matthew 19:25)."
