The Art League of Lincoln has an exciting and fun exhibit, “Pure Imagination,” now on display. The original artwork was created with recycled, reused and repurposed items. Can you imagine a tall interactive tower made up of prescription bottles filled with toys and everyday items surrounding a sound-activated multi-colored light bar? Check out the Spotlight Gallery in the Art League and talk to it!
There are walls of art, jewelry and sculptures created from found items, scraps and “pure imagination.”
Exhibit curator of this exhibit is Barbara Burge is the exhibit’s curator.
Wiley Geriach of Lincoln won first-place for “The Sun.
Jayson Randall of Minneapolis, Minnesota won second-place for “Refilled.”
Benjamin Newman of Roseville won third-place for “Locust Stage Four.”
Rhett Neal of Sacramento won Curator’s Choice for “Dreams of Days Gone By.”
Diane Ruhkala Bell of Rocklin won honorable mention for “Jerry’s Jeans and Diane’s Dreams.”
Rhonda Campbell of Lincoln also received honorable mention for “Life Her Way.”
Larry Hays of Pollock Pines received honorable mention for “Chainsaw Coat Rack.”
The “Pure Imagination” exhibit can be seen from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; and 4 to 8 p.m. Thursdays. The Art League of Lincoln is at 580 6th St.
