Lincoln athletes named to Bee’s All Metro lineup

The Sacramento Bee named four Lincoln High baseball players and three softball players to its All Metro Team.

Dallas Atchley was name to the first team for softball and Brennan Rozell was given first-team honors for baseball.

Rozell, a shortstop, hit .426 for the Fighting Zebras, with a dozen doubles and four home runs. Atchley, a catcher, crushed nine round-trippers and drove in 25 runs for a .381 batting average.

Atchley’s battery mate Hannah Shiering earned second-team honors. The junior helped lead the Zebras to the Pioneer Valley League title with nine wins and a 1.25 earned-run average.

Junior Sophia Agundes hit .492 in 67 plate appearances to receive honorable mention.

In baseball, Lincoln’s Zach Eutsey, Jacob Lemus and Ty Williams were also given honorable mention.

Eutsey had six wins as a pitcher for the PVL champion Zebras and an ERA of 1.67. Lemus played second base and was involved in 14 double plays. Williams was the starting catcher, pitched and played first base, while batting for a .398 average and two home runs.
