Former Nevada Irrigation District (NID) director Jim Bachman of Lincoln died Sunday.
“He was a longtime respected citizen of Lincoln,” said Dave Carter of NID.
Bachman, a rancher and retired construction manager, served on the NID Board for six years. He was appointed June 10, 2009 to complete the term of the late R. Paul Williams of Lincoln, who retired from the board.
Bachman was elected to a four-year term in 2012 and served as NID Board president in 2013. He resigned from the NID Board in May 2015 for health reasons, according to Carter.
Bachman was also president of both the Placer County Farm Bureau and Placer Farm Supply. Bachman was also a dedicated member of the Mt. Pleasant Hall Committee.
His services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Pleasant Hall, 3333 Mt. Pleasant Road in Lincoln.
In lieu of flowers, the Bachman family requests donations be made to the Placer Land Trust. Donations can be mailed to 11641 Blocker Drive, Suite 220, Auburn, CA 95603 or made online at placerlandtrust.org. Indicate that donations are in his memory.
