Lincoln High junior Reese Zinzun gave herself an early start by signing on to play soccer for William Jessup University beginning in 2019.

"I am ecstatic to announce Reese as our newest addition to our women's soccer team. She and her family have been familiar faces at our home games and I am so excited, as we have officially gained a huge mass of supporters in her extended family," Warriors head coach Rachel Constantini said.

The junior midfielder/defender plays for the Fighting Zebras and the Placer United club program year round. Her leadership on and off the field has been evident to both her teammates and coaches throughout her soccer career.

Constantini said Zinzun possesses key components of a versatile player – calm on the ball, comfortable in any position and leads by example.

While looking forward to her time on the field, Zinzun also looks forward to studying business at WJU. She aspires to start a career in business upon graduation, with hopes to have a family while loving what she does.

"I remember attending my first William Jessup women's soccer game at the age of 11, it was then that I knew I wanted to aspire to become a Warrior." Zinzun said. "While at that first game, the players were so gracious to this little girl who had a dream to someday play soccer at the collegiate level.

“The players gave me a T-shirt and a poster with all of their signatures. I knew that someday I wanted to be that same role model that those players were to me."

Zinzun said family is very important to her and William Jessup feels like family to her.
