Twin brothers arrested for lewd acts on children
Twin brothers, known regionally as youth volleyball coaches, were both arrested May 16 for alleged lewd acts on a child.
Jason Cole, 41, of Lincoln, was arrested at a Placer County courtroom, where he was appearing on an unrelated matter, according to a Lincoln Police Department press release. He was out of custody and on bail, following an arrest last year for similar charges, at the time of his arrest.
Robert Cole, 41, of Grass Valley, was arrested at the Placer County Jail, where he was already in custody for alleged child rape charges, specifically Penal Code violations 288.7 (a) engaging in sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child under the age of 10 and 288.7 and (b) engaging in oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child under the age of 10. He was arrested on those charges April 23.
Bail for both, on these newest charges, is set at $150,000. Both were recently charged with violation of Penal Code 288 (C) (1), alleged lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
However, total bail for Robert Cole is now at $6.3 million and Jason Cole is not eligible for bail, according to information provided by the Placer County Jail.
The Cole brothers are known to have coached youth volleyball in Placer County for several years. Since allegations have been brought forward by multiple victims, the Lincoln Police Department is asking the public for assistance in identifying additional victims. Anyone with information that might be helpful to the investigation is asked to call 916-645-4040.
