The Antelope Community Tennis Association invites tennis players 16 and up to participate in its Memorial Day Tennis Tournament Monday.
This is enjoyable team tennis in which players have a partner, but play independent of that partner. The scoring is then the combined score of how each partner fares over two hours of doubles play.
“One of my most favorite tennis tournament events of the year is the ACTA Memorial Day Tournament,” said Peter Schor, president of the Lincoln and Rocklin Tennis Association (LARTA). “It is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.”
The fee is $25 and goes toward the Antelope Tennis Center. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and play starts at 9. Players play according to their skill level ranging from 2.0 to 4.5.
Participants can sign up with a partner or as a single and a partner will be assigned.
The half-day event includes a gift bag, barbecue lunch, trophies and raffle prizes.
The ACTA Home Courts are located at 7909 Falcon View Dr., in Antelope.
