We finally stumped Lincoln News Messenger readers. It has been several weeks since no one had the answer to the name or use of last week’s mystery item.
Hopefully, this week’s mystery item pictured here will be easier. It was lonely not receiving your answers.
If you might know what this item is and what it was used for, please send answers to firstname.lastname@example.org by Tuesday.
And if you want to see the mystery item in person, visit the Lincoln Area Archives Museum at 640 5th St. in downtown Lincoln.
Last week’s mystery item
Pictured with last week’s mystery item is Sarah Foxworthy Grey who, along with her late husband, Oliver, donated many articles and objects to the museum. She graciously agreed two weeks ago, while visiting the museum, to present the week’s mystery item.
Last week’s mystery item is an alcoholometer device for measuring the alcohol content in wine.
The alcoholometer was donated to the museum by Ron Derobertis, whose relatives owned the Derobertis Winery in rural Lincoln years ago and used the device.
The Lincoln Area Archives Museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays at the Lincoln Area Archives Museum.
