A report of a Prius stuck in the mud at 6:24 a.m. near Kemper Road and Richardson Drive in North Auburn led deputies to the arrest of two Nevada County men on no-bail warrants. Arrested on suspicion of receiving a stolen vehicle and the warrant was Connor Joseph Casey, 25, of Grass Valley. Arrested on the warrant, suspicion of providing false identification and possession of several shaved “bump” keys typically used to steal autos was Bryan Hart Walker, 22, of Grass Valley.
One postcard was the lone piece of mail left after a break-in at a cluster of mailboxes near Meadow Vista’s Cole Road-Green Valley Lane crossroads.
Monique Francise Fortier, 47, of Applegate was cited and released on a promise to appear in court after a traffic stop and consent search in which two used meth pipes were confiscated. The arrest took place at 4:39 p.m. at Interstate 80 and Highway 174. The citations alleged possession of drug paraphernalia.
Clay Michael Dossa, 33, of Applegate was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and being under the influence of a drug. The arrest took place in the Colfax Subway restaurant parking lot after a report was fielded by deputies of a suspicious vehicle. The arrest took place at about 8 p.m.
Martin Gomez Ramos, 57, a Sacramento transient, was arrested at Thunder Valley Casino on Athens Avenue in rural Lincoln on suspicion of forgery after allegedly attempting to pass an unauthorized check.
A 30-year-old Wheatland woman reported leaving her phone at a Thunder Valley Casino slot machine at 2 a.m. and returning to find it missing. Value of the phone was $900.
A residential burglary was reported in the Kings Hill Road area of Iowa Hill, east of Colfax. A $600 shotgun was reported stolen from a motorhome.
Two guitars valued at a total of $970 were reported stolen from a home in the 5700-block Gold Street in Foresthill.
