Crime In Your Community: 300-pound, $5K barbecue stolen in Loomis; Guns gone from Newcastle ranch; More

April 4

Nicholas Richard Vandendriesche, 26, and 27-year-old Jasmine Courtney Marlar, both transients, had the van they were in searched and both were arrested in the 3700 block of North Auburn’s Richardson Drive on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Both were on searchable probation.

 

Sean Michael Hohn, a 24-year-old transient, was arrested at the Starbuck’s on North Auburn’s Bell Road on suspicion of possession of a glass smoking pipe and stolen credit cards.

 

April 2

A home construction site in the 6200 block of Rutherford Canyon Road in Loomis is missing an expensive and hefty barbecue to theft. The homeowner reported someone made off with a Lynx barbecue grill valued at $4,939 that had been set in a stucco frame with a concrete counter. Total weight was 300 pounds. There are no leads to a theft that is took place between March 31 and April 1.

 

April 1

Serena Rose Angelo, 33, of North Auburn was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance after being stopped in her vehicle following reports of someone driving erratically in North Auburn. The arrest took place near Dutch Bros. coffee shop at Dry Creek Road and Highway 49. At the Placer County Jail, a new charge of possession of meth and bringing meth into jail were added when a baggie of suspected meth fell out of a pocket.

 

March 29

Someone forged a check stolen from mailbox outside a 4100-block Auburn Folsom Road residence. Value of the check was $702. The check was cashed at a Lowe’s store in Roseville.

 

March 28

A burglary was reported at a ranch in the 1500 block of Goulart Ranch Road in rural Newcastle. A door to a garage was kicked in and three firearms were among the items stolen. Value of the missing guns had not been determined.

 

March 18

Cory Robert Simms, 26, of Colfax was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The arrest took place at 10:30 p.m. after a deputy spotted a vehicle on the shoulder of Highway 174 near Rollins Lake Road with the engine running.

 

April 2

Joshua Michael Felner, 32, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth and heroin. The arrest took place in the 4000-block Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn.

 

April 1

Kenneth Cinclair Pfeiffer, 53, of Auburn was arrested in the 300-block Stoddard Way on suspicion of driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with false license tabs.

 

March 31

A Lincoln-area ranch in the 8000-block Nicolaus Road was hit by a burglary, with a reported $20,000 loss that included a 12-foot trailer, a gun safe with firearms inside, TVs, tools and landscaping equipment.

 

A window was broken on an SUV parked in the 9600-block Sterling Pointe Court in Loomis. An estimated $40 worth of property was reported missing.

 

Joseph Buck Adams, 41, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, possession of meth and possession of a meth pipe. The arrest took place on Michael Lane in North Auburn.  

 

Ryan Lyden Murphy, 25, of Auburn, was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and meth and possession of a syringe loaded with heroin. The arrest took place just after 10 p.m. in the Carl’s Jr. parking lot in the 2300-block Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn.

 

March 30

Two unlocked vehicles parked in the 5100-block Westridge Court of North Auburn were entered and a total of $3,044 in property was reported missing.

 

A window was broken to gain entry to a home in the 5500-block West Saint Francis Circle in Loomis. Jewelry and purses were stolen from the master bedroom in a theft believed to have taken place between 5:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. Missing property was valued at $12,900.

 

March 28

Araina Nicole Roy, 36, of Auburn was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth, heroin and drug paraphernalia. The arrest took place in North Auburn near Highway 49 and Quartz Drive.
