One dead, one injured in Highway 65 accident

Traffic backed up for miles

A single-car accident on northbound State Highway 65, between Twelve Bridges Drive and Lincoln Boulevard, has left one dead and one seriously injured Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The injured person was taken to a local hospital.

The accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. The Lincoln Police Department assisted by closing the Twelve Bridges Drive onramp, according to Lincoln Police Chief Doug Lee.

According to a California Highway Patrol map, the accident happened between the Twelve Bridges Drive exit and the Lincoln Boulevard exit.

The cause of the accident is being investigated and traffic on Highway 65 is reportedly backed up for miles and is expected to be delayed, as of 4:30 p.m.
