Crime In Your Community: Foresthill Bridge smash-and-grab; Burglar steals Loomis eatery tip jar; More

March 26

A 34-year-old Meadow Vista resident reported someone opened a Verizon account in his name without his authorization. No dollar-loss amount was reported.

 

March 25

Kyla Gabrieal Hansen, 21, an Auburn transient, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The arrest followed a search during a traffic stop at Foresthill Road and Old Foresthill Road, between Auburn and Foresthill.

 

Joseph Scott North, 27, of Grass Valley, was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth, heroin and suboxone. The arrest took place shortly before 11 a.m. at Shadow Rock Drive and Dry Creek Road in North Auburn.

 

March 24

A resident of the 3400-block Kingmont Road area in Loomis reported someone stole mail from a home mailbox.

 

Lorenzo’s Mexican Restaurant, 3883 Taylor Road in Loomis, was burglarized. Stolen was a TV and money from a tip jar. Losses were pegged at an estimated $450.

 

March 23

A 77-year-old Foresthill resident reported parking his truck on the eastern turnout of the Foresthill Bridge, going for a 1½ hour walk and returning to find a window smashed and valuables worth $595 removed from the interior. The theft took place between noon and 1:30 p.m. A vehicle that may have been driven by the smash-and-grab thief was described as a brown, newer model SUV.

 

Amanda Jene Standridge, 30, of Auburn was arrested after a traffic stop on suspicion of being under the influence of meth and possession of a meth pipe. The arrest took place at 6:56 p.m. at Bell and Bowman roads in Bowman.
