When you are sometimes short on time, try this ride over a flat course. We start at the Pavilion in McBean Park. After checking over your bike and tires, put on your helmet and let’s start.
Cross McBean Parkway from the Pavilion to A Street. Go one block to Fifth Street and make a right turn. Ride one block to East Avenue and turn left.
Continue on East Avenue to Virginiatown Road. Turn right on Virginiatown and go past McCourtney to Hungry Hollow Road where you turn left and wind around to Fruitvale Road. Make a U turn and ride back on Hungry Hollow to Virginiatown Road.
Make a right turn on Virginiatown and ride back past McCourtney Road to East Avenue. Carlin Coppin School is on your right side.
Ride on East Avenue to Fifth Street. Turn right on Fifth Street and go one block to A Street. Turn left on A Street and go one block to McBean Parkway. Cross McBean Parkway into McBean Park and the Pavilion.
You have just finished a loop ride of 6.01 miles.
Remember the upcoming Tour De Lincoln ride coming up on Saturday, May 14. This marks the 15th anniversary of this event. Visit tourdelincoln.org or call Bob Romness at the Lincoln Volunteer Center at 645-6254 for registration and more information. There are four rides ranging from 10 miles to 20 miles to 40 miles and the metric 100K. Price of the ride includes a barbecue lunch. Also volunteer positions are available for the rest stops and the registration area at McBean Park. Hope to see you at this fun event.
