Excitement was the word Friday night as 329 Lincoln High School seniors gathered one more time as a class in the gym before graduation ceremonies began.
The Lincoln News Messenger asked the soon-to-be graduates how they felt about reaching this milestone.
“Excited! It’s the start of a new beginning,” said Lily Rodriguez.
Brooke Jones used the same word.
Jones smiled brightly and said, “I’m so excited, it’s not even funny. I am ready to start a new life away from high school.”
Tyler Szeremi said that graduating made him “feel emotional but mostly happy.”
Christine Tech described the moment as “bittersweet”.
Jake Sola had one word to describe how he felt: “Ready!”
Mitchell McGuire agreed with Sola.
“I’m ready to move on to the next part of my life,” McGuire said.
Proud parents of the seniors also expressed their thoughts about their sons and daughters graduating.
Leo Calderon’s mother and father said, “Lincoln did a good job in shaping him for the future.”
As their son prepares to enter the Air Force, the Calderons “hope that he will lead people, teach sportsmanship and good attitude, like he learned here at Lincoln.”
Chance Peach’s mother and father said they “hope their son will become a man of character, have a happy life and live with passion.”
