Curtis, Kuhaulua earn conference honors Top players of the week
The William Jessup University baseball team was again recognized by the Golden State Athletic Conference after sweeping The Master’s in three games last weekend to stay on top of the GSAC Standings.
Former Rocklin High player Sam Curtis was tabbed Player of the Week.
In three games against the Mustangs, the senior was 11-for-16 at the plate for a .687 average. Curtis swatted two doubles, two home runs, drove in three runs and scored twice.
If that weren’t enough, he came on as a relief pitcher to fan 10 in the final game and picked up his fifth win of the young season.
Curtis was joined by teammate Ashkhon Kuhaulua, who was awarded Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week.
"Both of these guys did a great job,” said Warriors head coach Jake McKinley, “and I'm proud of the team for continuing to work very hard."
Kuhaulua opened the series against The Master’s, scattering four hits and striking out 11 in nine innings of work. WJU won the game 9-1.
