The Lincoln High boys soccer team will assemble on the pitch at Cosumnes Oaks High School Saturday, 2 p.m., to take on Central Valley for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Championship.

The 19-1-2 Fighting Zebras, seeded No. 3, have conquered the competition on their way to the playoff finals. After defeating Christian Brothers 3-0 to open sections, Lincoln edged No. 6 Oakdale 2-1 Feb. 23 and stunned No. 2 Vista del Lago 1-0 to advance.

Central Valley, 20-6-3, came in as the No. 5 seed defeating Golden Valley 4-1 to open their playoff run. The Hawks then shut out No. 4 Rio Americano 5-0 and fought No. 1 East Union to a 0-0 deadlock. Golden Valley advanced 7-6 on penalty kicks.

Oakdale was a common foe of the two teams. Both clubs beat the Mustangs by a single goal, the Hawks winning 1-0 Dec. 7.

Golden Valley entered the 2015 playoffs as the No. 9 seed in Division II and was eliminated by Tracy 3-0 in Round 1. The Hawks were the No. 15 seed in 2014 and were again knocked out of the playoffs in the first round.
