2009 Niello Volkswagen Ranch Run and Car Show raised $22,250 for Ride To Walk

Ride to Walk, a nonprofit therapeutic equine-therapy facility for kids with disabilities, was the beneficiary of the 2009 Niello Volkswagen Ranch Run and Car Show. The event was held at the Ride To Walk ranch off Highway 193 outside of Lincoln on Saturday, April 5. Called “the best car show ever” by one participant, the event raised more than $22,000 for this deserving program. The California Highway Patrol escorted the all-VW caravan from Niello VW in Sacramento to the ranch and formed a stretch of cars 5 miles long. The caravan qualified for the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest VW caravan! Ride To walk hosted approximately 470 Volkswagens of all models in a fantastic family-oriented event. More than 3,000 people enjoyed a variety of activities, food and music. All of the proceeds from this event were donated to Ride To Walk. Ride To Walk currently serves 80 children in a five-county area. They subsist on the generosity and donations of community members to continue to offer children with neurological disabilities therapy on horseback. Ride to Walk would like to thank Niello VW, Rob and Nikki Pane, the Niello staff, Panera Bread, The Salt Mine, St. Francis Parish, California Highway Patrol, CA-954th Cadet Group ROTC, EMT Brandon Waits, Ride To Walk volunteers, parents and board members, donors, sponsors and especially all the participants in the Car Show!
