More than 49 athletes signed up to play tennis for Lincoln High this spring. However, there is still room for more.

The Fighting Zebras will be coached this season by Chris Bender and Phillip Roberts. Bender has taught junior tennis for the United States Tennis Association and Roberts is a former Lincoln player and a coach of both tennis and soccer.

Along with new coaches, two new Fighting Zebras banners were hung at the school tennis courts for inspiration.

Lincoln will open the preseason at Whitney Feb. 20 and stay on the road through March 7.

The following Pioneer Valley League matches will be played at home: Colfax March 17, Center March 31, Foothill April 5, Placer April 7 and Bear River April 14. All matches start at 3 p.m. The complete schedule can be found at http://lhs.wpusd.k12.ca.us/.

Aspiring Zebras who want to sign up or want more information can email Bender at cbender@wgbender.com or Roberts at didgencon@yahoo.com.
