Lincoln’s Cynthia McGowan will be the new social director for the Lincoln and Rocklin Tennis Association (LARTA) for 2015. She replaces Katie Didion, who was director this past year.

“Cynthia is a very friendly, enthusiastic and smart, and smiles a bunch,” said LARTA President Peter Schor.

McGowan has been involved with tennis for many years. She was formerly with the Antelope Tennis Association, which boasted 655 members, and is a member of the United State Tennis Association.

McGowan is an avid tennis player and hopes to form a Lincoln league, and play other teams from around the area.

The Lincoln resident has also served with Ride to Walk and Meals on Wheels. She worked for Pacific Bell, SBC Communications and AT&T in planning, project management and engineering.

“Come join us at our LARTA Breakfast Social Tennis for all ages 16 and up on Saturday, Feb. 21 8:30 a.m.,” McGowan said.

The social is free and is held at the Lincoln High School tennis courts. Those interested can visit www.lartatennis.com to sign up.

LARTA is also on Facebook with photos of the junior tennis camp held in January.
