13-year-old’s good deeds continue

-A +A
The April 21 News Messenger (front page, “Turning waste into water”) covered the story about my daughter, Emma Bartlett, who led a “Waste for Water” campaign at her school, Twelves Bridges Elementary. With the support of the faculty, parents, students and members of the community, over 4,000 CRV containers were donated on April 29 – enough to provide clean drinking water to over 200 people for an entire year! With the success of that first event, Emma and the Fluid Life Project team from Heritage Church has continued to hold recycling “Quick Drop” events the last Saturday of every month in the Lincoln High School parking lot and at 1450 Highway 193. Your support via donation of your recyclable bottles and cans has enabled us to have our first well drilled in Nicaragua next month, with well No. 2 planned for November. On behalf of our team, I wanted to thank the readers and fine people of Lincoln for supporting our effort to bring clean water to thirsty people. DREW BARTLETT, Lincoln
