The Lincoln High girls team got off to a strong start against Marysville in Thursday’s late game of the 30th annual Lincoln Invitational Tournament and cruised to a 56-30 victory.

The Fighting Zebras opened up an 18-6 lead in the first quarter and entered the break up 40-20. Lincoln’s defense held the Indians to 10 points in the second half, two in the final period to ensure the victory.

Kalyna Kim scored 23 for the Zebras, and Keegan Linke and Makayla Franco combined for 15 points. However, defense was key to the victory as Lincoln shot just 28 percent from the floor.

The Zebras pulled 43 rebounds off the glass, with Tyler Smith gathering in nine and Madison Roberts seven. Franco and Mackenzie Eutsey grabbed five apiece.

The Zebras will play El Camino Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles defeated Capital Christian 42-33 Thursday.
