As further proof of Placer County’s position as one of the great cycling regions in the state, I submit these photos, all taken on the same 50-mile ride last month.
Starting in Lincoln, we went south on Joiner, through some neighborhoods on bike paths picking up Pacific near Sunset. Then East on King, making a left on Auburn-Folsom and up the big hill to Auburn.
After a donut, we headed home (mostly down hill) via Mr. Vernon to Baxter Grade and eventually to newly-paved Fruitvale and back to Lincoln.
Tom Frady is a Lincoln resident and avid cyclist and driver. On alternate weeks, this column features photographs from Placer County (and maybe some neighbors) taken while riding my bike. My hope is that the reader will be inspired to get on a bike and ride. This is a beautiful area and a wonderful place to bicycle.
