Four Jr. Zebras’ squads will play for the North championships

Midgets go for three straight

The Lincoln Jr. Zebras advanced four of its five teams to the Sierra Valley USA North Division Championships Saturday at Roseville High School.

The Jr. Zebras Mitey Mites are ranked No. 1 and will play Woodland’s Jr. Wolves at 8:30 a.m. The Marysville Jr. Indians and Nevada Union Jr. Miners square off at 9:15 and games continue until a champions is crowned after the 11 a.m. tilt.

The Jr. Peewee’s, seeded No. 1, will take on No. 2 Placer Jr. Hillmen at 1 p.m.

The PeeWees will match the No. 1 Jr. Zebras with the No. 2 host club, Roseville Jr. Tigers starting at 3.

The Jr. Zebra’s Jr. Midgets team was defeated in the second round of playoffs by the Nevada Union Jr. Miners team. The Jr. Miners will take on the Jr. Wolves at 5.

The day will finish with the No. 1 Jr. Zebras Midgets going against the No. 2 Roseville Jr. Tigers.

The Jr. Zebra’s were the only North Division program to send all of its teams into the second round of playoffs this year.

Jr. Peewees – Lincoln 39, Roseville 0

Peewees – Lincoln 38, Nevada Union 0

Jr. Midgets – Nevada Union 28, Lincoln 0

Midgets – Lincoln 24, Woodland 0

The Lincoln Jr. Zebras encourage everyone to attend the championship games and support the Lincoln Jr. Zebra’s in their quest.

The Mitey Mites have a preliminary game at 8:30 am and are favored to win over the Woodland Jr. Wolves and advance.

The Jr. Zebras’ Midgets will play for their third straight championship at 7 p.m.
