The Lincoln High School Girl’s Golf team ended their season Oct. 31, after the Masters Tournament at The Reserve in Stockton. The top five girls on the team this season were senior Kelsey Blaylock, freshman Tuesday Epperson, senior Hope Snead, junior Bryna Hamasaki and senior Katie Sterling.

The Zebras’ record in league was 2-7. Two players made all-league and advanced to the playoffs. Blaylock and Epperson both were recognized by the Pioneer Valley League, with Blaylock tying for third and Epperson placing fifth.

They both played at the following divisional tournament in Atwater at Rancho Del Ray Golf Club. Blaylock shot a 93 and Epperson posted an 87. Epperson’s score was good enough to advance to the Masters.

At the Masters, Epperson shot an 89 to finish off her strong freshman season.

Epperson stated, “I am extremely happy to have made it this far, especially as a freshman. But I have been working hard with competitive golf for years and I’m just glad to see it paying off and hopefully I can keep improving on my game.

“It was an honor to represent my team at every match and play against other schools. It was an awesome experience that I definitely couldn’t get anywhere else,” she added.

Hopefully, she can keep up her great play in her next three years at Lincoln High.

Overall, girls golf worked very hard and set the groundwork for the future of the Zebras.

Congratulations to both Blaylock and Epperson.
