The Lincoln High girls golf team swept to victory in the final Foothill Valley League match held at Mather Golf Course in Sacramento Tuesday. Shooting a team total 453 at Mather, the Fighting Zebras finished 8-0 in league competition.

Tuesday Epperson earned MVP honors, shooting a 79 over the par-72 layout. She was followed by teammate Kaylee Hahn’s 85 and Chelsea Wilson’s 94; both Hahn and Wilson were named to the FVL all-league team.

Rounding out the team’s scores, Alyssa Phan fired a 97 and Skyler Raper added a 98. Lindsey Ridgway shot 106 as the No. 6 player.

Coaches David Foxworthy and Eric Souto thanked Turkey Creek Golf Club in Lincoln on behalf of the Fighting Zebras for its support of the girls golf program. The layout is tough, but fair and a great course on which to sharpen one’s skills

“We greatly appreciate the support from everybody at Turkey Creek Golf Course,” Coach Souto said, “and look forward to calling Turkey Creek our home course for many years to come.”

The team now moves on to divisional, with Division III playing at Rancho Del Rey in Atwater Oct. 22.
