Oktoberfest celebrated Oct. 27 in Lincoln

The Lincoln St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus hosts the 28nd annual Oktoberfest on Oct. 27 at McBean Park Pavilion in Lincoln.

The Oktoberfest is one of three annual fundraisers hosted by the Lincoln Knights of Columbus. The other two are the crab fest in January and the annual luau in July.

The Oktoberfest takes place under Gerold Voigt’s leadership.

Knights head chef Herb Pickell provides a German-style buffet, including gourmet sausages, Schublig beef,  Weisswurst veal or apple chicken, hot German potato salad, apple sauerkraut, vegetables, rolls and dessert.

The Alpendancers perform German, Swiss and Austrian folk dances. Music includes polkas, waltzes and big band music for dancing and listening entertainment.

Oktoberfest proceeds are given back to the local community via scholarships, youth sports sponsorships, youth organizations, Lincoln High School special ed, Ride to Walk, Community Christian School, St. Joseph programs and other charitable organizations.

Admission is $30 per person and free for children under 12.

McBean Park Pavilion is at 65 McBean Drive.
