After coach Graylon Duncan announced he would not return for the 2019 baseball season, the Lincoln High Athletic Department went in search of a new skipper and found Mike Ratliff.

Ratliff is no stranger to Lincoln and especially Fighting Zebras baseball. He has been a coach at Center High School for almost a decade.

Ratliff has lived in Lincoln since 2007, with his wife and three children. His children, ages 16, 12 and 7 all attend Lincoln schools.

Although primarily a baseball coach, Ratliff has also coached football, volleyball and soccer. He has also served as an athletic director.

After capturing three straight Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV titles, the Zebras are now competing at Division II. They made the playoffs again in 2018, but lost to Del Oro in the second round by a run.

The 2019 season begins Feb. 4, so look for Coach Ratliff and the Zebras as they enter the new Foothill Valley League and gun for another section championship.
