The 15th annual Lincoln Showcase attracted 842 downtown-Lincoln visitors to sample food, wine and beer from around the region, according to Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Julia Jordan.

The chamber of commerce sponsors the annual event.

Debra Bellis, chamber event manager, said “the turnout was great and everybody had a fabulous time.”

“Next year, we would like to have even more restaurants, wineries and breweries participate,” Bellis said. “The more food, the better.

“Also, I want to thank all the committee members and volunteers who worked really hard,” Bellis added. “We couldn’t have done it without them.”

The Showcase also offered a chance for visitors to vote for their favorites in three categories: food (Golden Fork), wine (Golden Cork) and beer (Golden Hop). The winners were Golden Fork, Citizen Vine; Golden Cork, Wise Villa Winery; and Golden Hop, GoatHouse Brewing Company.

Citizen Vine provided two items at the Showcase: an ahi-crisp made with sashimi-grade ahi tuna on a wonton crisp with an avocado cream wasabi shoyu glaze with a sriracha aioli and Asian plum meatballs made with a pork and beef mixture marinated in plum sauce.

Wise Villa Winery provided a selection of its Golden State award-winning wines and GoatHouse Brewery offered a choice of two Lincoln-made beers: Wee Laddie, a Scottish Ale and Bodacious Belgian Blonde, a Belgian Golden Ale.
