Lincoln Theatre Company brings “Oklahoma” to the Lincoln Civic Auditorium Feb. 16 through March 3.
The classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical features two newcomers, Donovan McNeely as Curly and Kelsie Fairchild as Laurie.
Other major roles are filled by Tabitha Jones, Brandon Hunter and Rev. Rob Pesola from Lincoln’s United Methodist Church.
The cast includes adults and youth from the Sacramento region as well as many Lincoln residents.
The original Broadway production opened on March 31, 1943 and ran for 2,212 performances, closing on May 29, 1948.
Based on the original Broadway production, Lincoln Theatre Company’s production includes “Surrey With The Fringe On Top,” “People Will Say We’re In Love,” “I Can’t Say No,” “Oh What A Beautiful Morning” and “Oklahoma” songs.
Choreographer is Jeff Teague and background projections were created by John Roebeck from the Art League of Lincoln.
The show runs Feb. 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, March 2 and March 3.
